Dr. G. H. Naveen – Visi­ting Professor/Chair in Yoga Pro­fes­sor­ship


He is the first per­son in India to get selec­ted for Yoga chair pro­fes­sor­ship from ICCR and first Yoga Chair Pro­fes­sor in Ger­ma­ny and also first per­son to secu­re Ph.D. in Yoga and Psych­ia­try field from depart­ment of Psych­ia­try, Natio­nal Insti­tu­te of Men­tal Health and Neu­ro Sci­en­ces (NIMHANS), Insti­tu­te of Natio­nal impor­t­an­ce, Ban­ga­lo­re after BNYS (Bache­lor of Natur­opa­thy and Yogic sci­en­ces; 5 years medi­cal cour­se). He has 8 PUBMED inde­xed inter­na­tio­nal­ly repu­ted jour­nal publi­ca­ti­ons and 2 other rese­arch publi­ca­ti­ons with 2 books/4 book chap­ters to his credit. Pre­sen­ted rese­arch papers at Euro­pean Con­gress of Psych­ia­try, 2015, Aus­tria & 10th World Con­gress of Bio­lo­gi­cal Psych­ia­try at Pra­gue, 2011. His rese­arch inte­rests inclu­de Yoga and Psych­ia­try, Neu­ro­plastic effects of Yoga, Yoga and Natur­opa­thic medi­ci­ne in Obe­si­ty, Dia­be­tes mel­li­tus and Poly­cystic Ova­ri­an Syn­dro­me. Prof. Hal­ap­pa will give Yoga cour­ses to the stu­dents, staffs at the Leib­niz Uni­ver­si­tät Han­no­ver in part­nership with Uni­ver­si­ty Sport Cent­re hea­ded by Mr. Sebas­ti­an Knust. Apart from Yoga cour­ses, Prof. Hal­ap­pa will take semi­nars for stu­dents and also work on rese­arch pro­jects in the working group of Prof. Alfred Effen­berg, Insti­tu­te of Sport Sci­en­ces at LUH. Prof. Halappa’s ICCR Chair Pro­fes­sor­ship is a suc­cess­ful pro­ject of Inter­na­tio­nal Office, Leib­niz Uni­ver­si­tät Han­no­ver and sup­por­ted by the Embas­sy of India, Ber­lin.
