On 16. May 2017 Prof. Monika Sester visited NUS and had inspiring talks with Prof. Anne Pakir and Rena Lau from the International Office. In the course of the discussion it turned out, that there are research areas, where both universities have excellent expertise, notably in Quantum Physics, where NUS also has a center of excellence.

In the area of Civil Engineering, there are established contacts to Leibniz University through Prof. Michael Beer, who was faculty at NUS for 4 years. In the discussion with Prof. Quek Ser Tong, the dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Sester identified interesting points of collaboration; besides research cooperations, there is the possibility for students exchange based on the Masters Programmes in Civil Engineering, which are offered in English: "Computational Engineering" as well as "Geodesy and Geoinformatics".

This is an excellent opportunity for German students to get acquainted with Asian culture at an internationally highly ranked university.
